What is this portal about?

The  Ministry of Information, Communication and the Arts (MICA) has established this online portal, managed by the Arts & Culture Development Office (ACDO), to facilitate individual donations from the public to any of the beneficiaries listed in the Portal.
  

2.

Do I have to register?

No. Donation is made easy. Just click and go!
 

3.

What does IPC stands for?

IPC stands for Institutions of a Public Character status governed by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS).  
 

4.

How do I tell my friends?

Click on the ‘Tell a Friend’ link and follow the instructions.

5.

Where does my donation go to?

If you have selected a specific beneficiary to donate, the funds will be transferred to their account. If you have contributed to the generic fund, it will be allocated to the Arts & Culture Development Fund.
 

6.

How do I select the beneficiary to donate to?

The system will automatically show the list of beneficiaries that match your selected categories. Alternatively, you can also browse our Beneficiary Directory.
 

7.

I don’t have a specific beneficiary in mind, can I still donate?

Yes. If there are no specific beneficiaries in mind, you can contribute to our generic pool (a.k.a Arts & Culture Development Fund). ACDO will allocate the funds from the generic pool to the selected beneficiaries through an Independent Advisory Committee comprise of five members, of which one member is the Executive Director of ACDO, and the other four represent various industry and philanthropic sectors in Singapore.  All members are appointed by the Board of Trustees of the Arts & Culture Development Fund.

Can I know more about the beneficiary before making my decision?

What are the methods of payment?

Payment can be made by credit card or cheque.
 

10.

How much do I have to donate?

There is a minimum donation of SGD$2.
   

11.

How will my donation be reflected in my bank statement?

Your bank statement will indicate “Donation via Give2Arts” when a donation has been accepted.
 

12.

What is a tax-deductible receipt?

Once a donation is made to a beneficiary with IPC status, you can then choose to allow them to forward your particulars to IRAS under the Auto-Inclusion Scheme. A tax deductible receipt will then be issued to you by the beneficiary.
  

13.

How do corporations donate?

Corporations can donate in the same way using the Portal. Click on ‘Organisation’ in the ‘Donor Type’ and proceed as usual.  

14.

What are the transaction fees?

The following table indicates the bank charges to every donation that is made. For example, if a Donor contributes SGD$10, the table illustrates the nett amount received by the beneficiary.

What is this portal about?

The Portal is a dedicated one-stop cultural philanthropy platform to encourage greater support through donations, big and small. Beyond facilitating donations, the portal will also be a platform for more Singaporeans to volunteer their time, skills and resources in a broad range of arts and cultural programmes.

Do I have to register?

Yes. Click on the link ‘Beneficiaries’ and follow the instructions. Alternatively, you can view our Beneficiary User Guide for more details.
 
 

3.

Do I have to pay to create an account?

Registration on this portal is free. However, all transaction fees incurred during donation will be borne by your company. 
 
 

4.

I have forgotten my password, how do I retrieve it back?

You may use the ‘Forgot Your Password’ feature from the main login page to retrieve your password. The password will be sent to the email address stated on your profile.
 
 

5.

Who will be able to see our company details?

Public who are interested in your organisation are able to view your company details. Please see our Privacy Policy for more details.
 
 

6.

Who will bear the cost of this website?

All set up and operating cost will be borne by ACDO.
 
 

7.

How will the website be managed?

ACDO will assume the responsibility of managing the website.
 
 

8.

Will I be able to contact the administrator directly?

9.

How long does it take for our information to be approved?

We will endeavour to process your approval as soon as possible. The stipulated administration time is at an estimation of two weeks.
 
 
 
Donation Questions For Beneficiaries 

1.

Who receives the donation?

As per the donor’s selection, the beneficiary chosen will receive the donation. If a donation is made to the generic pool, ACDO will allocate the funds to eligible beneficiaries as decided by an independent advisory committee.
 
 

2.

How do the funds get transferred to us?

All donation funds accepted by MICA will be transferred to the respective beneficiaries via the bank details provided on the DCA (Direct Credit Authorisation) form during registration.
 
 

3.

Will we be notified if there is a donation made to us?

Yes, an email notification will be sent to you when a donation is made to your organisation.
 
 

4.

How do we view the donations?

All donations received can be viewed through the donation history on the beneficiary profile home page.
 
 

5.

Can you explain the complete donation process?

You may view the documentation on the Flowchart for Donors for an understanding of the donation process.
 
 

6.

Will the donors’ information be shared with us?

Donor information will be shared with you only if you are the receiving beneficiary of the donation in order for you to process the receipts or for you to forward the information to IRAS under the Auto-Inclusion Scheme if your organisation is of IPC status. However, no information will be shared if the Donor chooses to be anonymous.

8.

Who issues the tax-deductible receipts to the donors?

If your organisation has IPC status and the donation is made to you, then the tax receipt will be issued by you. MICA will only issue receipts to donations made to the generic fund.
